Cheese, Rum & Whisky

Some of you thought the idea of cheese and whisky was a little… well.. out there!
But I proved the combination is a winning one… And no-one disagreed.

So, I’m shaking things up to another level, with Cheese, Rum & Whisky.

Whisky and cheese are the perfect – if not unconventional – match. Here’s why: 
Sherry, port or wine are the ”go to” drinks for cheese. The clever Master Distillers of whisky have been finishing and maturing their whiskies in casks that have previously held sherry, port and wine longer than some of us have been alive. These casks pass their wondrously rich, complex sherry, port and wine flavours on to the whisky. 

Rum gives us an extra dimension… And I guarantee you will be both surprised and impressed.

Together we will discover how the dram flavours interact with the creamy, fully bodied flavours of cheese. 

The Cheese:
Your Cheesemonger is an absolute legend from Buchanans.  Buchanans source the finest cheeses from producers across the UK and Europe and tend to them in their on-site maturing rooms. Their shop - near Marble Arch - is a cheese lover's paradise, as well as a showcase for the cheese from their cellars.

The Rum and Whisky:
Of course… Rare, exclusive and collectable drams chosen by me. As always, they will be a completely new selection, never before featured at one of my tastings.

The Venue:
London has a vast array of Private Members Clubs, each offering their own idiosyncratic feel on what a Club should be.

Bridges Place is home to writers and theatre land. It’s renowned for its charm, exclusivity, and rich history and being on the narrowest street in London.

Buchanans Cheese Monger - to guide you through the cheese.
London Historian - to treat you to the splendour of the club.
Yours truly - to challenge your thoughts on what to reach for with cheese.
