Back to School with Davidoff & Aqua Nueva

No matter your age, September is about getting back in the game! It’s the month to pick projects up, connect with clients, close deals and build momentum for that final Q4 push. It’s not all business though: the weather is still good, the evenings remain light, and we can continue to use rooftop bars.

So, we are starting September with: a little education, a private rooftop, a cigar & drams in hand, and a lamb supper!

The Smoke:
Did you know that the Cuban government asked Zino Davidoff to create an international cigar with his name and that is how Davidoff cigars were born?!

Back in 1946 the first Davidoff branded cigar created was wine inspired, its successor was the Grand Cru.

It seems fitting for the September restart to enjoy a drinks inspired smoke!

Your Davidoff Cigar Host enjoys a simple Cappuccino with his morning cigar. Cognac or rum are his go to drinks with a smoke. 

The Drams:
The inspiration for the “Back To School” tasting is exploring which drams work best with the flavours of a cigar. Remember, the Grand Cru Cigar will change the flavours of the drams.  

So, I’ll be carefully selecting 4 drams for you to enjoy that are a combination of rare, collectable and award winning. To see the best drink to enjoy with a cigars!

Drinks categories are perceived as wildly differently, whether it’s the season to drink them in, how or when to drink them. Yet put them side by side at a blind tasting, add a cigar in the mix, and barely anyone can tell the difference! Will you be the exception? 

This is a semi-blind tasting so, I’m not going to make it easy for you!!

The Venue & Time:

In the heart of Central London, next to Oxford Street is an excellent private rooftop with views known by only a few. This elegant private space in Aqua is perfect to kick start our September events.

I’m taking you to one of my favourite rooftops to relax and enjoy a cigar, and we have full access to venue after the tasting.

18^th September – and yes, it’s a Wednesday! Big boys (and girls) can break the rules and come out on a school night.

Arrive: 6pm for a 6.30pm start

Food:
We are keeping it simple – choose one from:

• Braised beef short rib, potato gratin 
• Rack of lamb, roasted baby parsnips, parsnip purée, lamb jus
• Pan-fried salmon, grilled seasonal vegetables

Dessert 
Basque Cheescake | V
