The Danes' Christmas

A Nordic Christmas Drinks Tasting  experience

Long before the twinkle of fairy lights and the scent of cinnamon, The Danes gathered beneath winter skies to mark Jul — a midwinter feast of fire, feasting, and fermented joy.

It was a time for raising horns of mead to Odin, sharing strong drink, celebrating fire, and enjoying smoked meat to chase away the dark.

Did you know the Vikings, those bold “Danes”, expanded the English language, gave us Dublin, and personal grooming!!! Along with smoked meat and new trade routes. Then there are the tales of valour, plunder, along with excellent stories.

December 2nd at KöD Soho we rekindle that spirit with a tale of those old Danes told through a drinks experience! It will be an evening of Nordic indulgence.

We raise a dram to “hygge” and to history, as we weave a drinks tale that warms and captures the spirit of The Danes.

Smoked Meat, or should I say fantastic charcoal-grilled steak!! Keeping with tradition, a delicious salmon dish is also available as an alternative to beef – two course dinner.

Hosted by Cask Liquid and Whisky Drams, yes, 2 hosts* – Between sips, we will explore the journeys, mischief and gifts the legacy of The Danes has left us.

Join us to toast “Skål" for warmth, for kinship, for the returning of the sun.
