Late St George's Day Whisky Tasting
We are celebrating one of the most venerated Saints at this tasting, and it isn't St Patrick!
Did you know St George wasn’t actually English, he was a Roman soldier.
St George's Day normally comes & goes with little recognition and no celebrations, yet whisky and us Brits have lots to celebrate.
The World's Best Single Malt of 2022 was English; May 2023 is the coronation of our King; and London is the best city in Europe for street art (TimeOut, January 2023).
So, Wednesday May 10th is our Late Alternative St George's Day.
To make it a proper celebration we are showcasing drams from two fantastic distilleries - Bimber and White Peak. I’m opening a 1st release that didn’t stick around for long, and something specific to London - which ties in nicely with the venue.
Samuel Pepys described The Pub as “The heart of England”, and pubs are quintessentially English, so we’re heading to The Stablehand pub in Lancaster Gate, which has ties to Winston Churchill and other English Prime Ministers.

This is your chance to meet two people responsible for the journey a dram takes before it reaches your glass, and your opportunity to learn about the choices they make and why.
I can’t think of two better people to share a dram or this tasting with.
